Cutirre Canopy Tour consists of approximately 2,000 feet of cable stretching between 17 platforms situated from 10 to 100 ft. above the forest floor. Each platform provides an ideal opportunity to rest, bird watch or just take in the majestic views of the Mombacho Volcano and Lake Nicaragua’s coast. Guests are accompanied by the most well trained naturalist and canopy guides in the country, using the highest quality equipment available (helmets, harnesses, pulleys and gloves) and the using the best safety techniques developed during 10 years of canopy operations in Costa Rica.

Since 2001, our guests have safely “soared” from tree to tree by coasting along horizontal traverse cables made of the same technology used by the NASA Space Program – a safety standard unique to The ORIGINAL CANOPY TOUR®.
Plus, as you enjoy a bird’s eye view of the jungle over the trails far below, your certified expert guides assist and explain what’s going on around you from the time you leave the ground until you descend back down to the forest floor.
Not only will you be up close and personal with century old trees, tropical flora and fauna but also see an operational coffee plantation from the treetops above.
For your protection, a list of strict safety standards have been developed by the creators of The ORIGINAL CANOPY TOUR®. These standards surpass anything available in the marketplace today. The class consists of over 200 hours of lectures and practical work and another 200 hours of apprenticeship.

CUTIRRE CANOPY TOUR
INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS

Compact cameras and video recorders are allowed, assuming you can adequately store the device prior to moving from platform to platform. Our safety guidelines warrant the use of both hands during platform transit for your safety. Anything that is dropped from the platforms or traverses cannot be recovered, and is the personal responsibility of the individual.

Fear of heights is absolutely normal--most of our clients get nervous at first. After conquering the first 3 platforms, concerns are naturally replaced by a unique and relaxing appreciation of the captivating surroundings. Mix this in with a little adrenalin, and we are confident our tour will be one of your most exciting and relaxing experiences to date.

Minimum Emotional Requirements
- Willing to enjoy the view, the animals, and the adventure from up on the trees.
- Trust, in the equipment and the guides of the Canopy Tour.
- Able to stand calmly on a platform 40 feet above the ground.
- Able to understand simple instructions and follow the safety rules.

Children 3 years old and over are welcome when accompanied by parents or authorized guardian. Children smaller than 3.50 ft. high must be harnessed with a guide. MOMBOTOUR S.A. offers childcare to those parents who require it (price is not included in our rack rates).

Will I see wild life ?

This, of course depends on the wildlife—-visitors must remember that Cutirre isn’t a zoo, but the sharp-eyed tourist may spot countless species of flora and fauna as we pass through the forest. Our guides can help you find them. But no matter what animals are out and about the particular day you experience the tour, the magnificence of the trees themselves is enough to take your breath away.
